Doug Cahn, President, Clear Voice
Doug has been a corporate responsibility and public policy executive for nearly 30 years. During that time, he has implemented corporate programs that address supply chain labor standards, human rights, environment, government relations, community relations, advocacy and communications. As vice president of human rights programs at Reebok International for 15 years, Doug led the implementation of Reebok's corporate commitment to international human rights, both through the company's business practices and philanthropic endeavors. Doug is a pioneer in applying corporate codes of conduct to factories owned and operated by third parties in Asia, Central America and Eastern Europe. He developed a child labor free soccer ball factory in Pakistan and human rights training programs, worker communication systems, and assessment tools in over a dozen countries. Doug directed the human rights grantmaking at the Reebok Human Rights Foundation. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Fair Factories Clearinghouse, a non-profit initiative of global retail companies, consumer brands and retail trade associations dedicated to creating a system for managing and sharing information about workplace conditions. He is also a member of the Board of Verite, a non-profit research and advocacy organization dedicated to humanizing the global workplace.
Debbie O'Brien Krackeler, Director of Business Development, Clear Voice
Debbie O'Brien Krackeler has a decade of experience working with companies on corporate social responsibility solutions. She is an independent consultant working with TheCahnGroup. Prior to that, she spent nine years at Business for Social Responsibility where she served as Director of Consumer Products and Director of Human Rights. The primary focus of Debbie's engagement with companies is on helping them develop strategies and policies to integrate corporate responsibility policies and practices into their core business operations. Debbie advises companies on the development of sustainable supply chain practices. She provides strategic counsel and training on the full range of program implementation issues including development of risk assessment and audit standards tools, communications with suppliers and stakeholders, country and issues specific challenges, monitoring and verification, and remediation. Debbie has conducted over thirty training workshops for suppliers and brand representatives on compliance and codes of conduct in Asia and Latin America, and has spoken at a variety of conferences on the issue of responsible supply chain management. Her clients have included adidas, Ford Motor Company, Gap Inc, Kraft Foods, Levi Strauss & Company, Monsanto, Nordstrom, Nike, Novartis, Peets Coffee, Proctor & Gamble, Reebok, Starbucks, Target, Timberland, Wal-Mart, and Whole Foods Market.
